Help packing and sorting gifts for Sintvoorieder1

16 August 2020
Dr. van der Stamstraat 4, 2265 BC Leidschendam
11:00 - 15:00

Although he looks a bit like Santa Claus, ‘Sinterklaas’ (Saint Nicholas) is a very Dutch character loved by children and adults alike. The evening of the 5th of December is the main gift-giving occasion during the holiday season in the Netherlands, called 'sinterklaasavond' (Sinterklaas evening) or 'pakjesavond' (presents evening). Sint drops off a sack full of gifts on the doorstep before heading back to Spain.

Unfortunately, not every family has enough financial resources to buy presents for their children. Therefore Sintvoorieder1 (Sinterklaas for every1!) collects presents and wraps them. The aim of Sintvoorieder1 is that as many children as possible can celebrate Sinterklaasavond! As a volunteer you help with sorting and wrapping the presents.

The presents will be collected and wrapped in a warehouse in Leidschendam.

The organisation of Sintvooriedereen asks all volunteer to wear a facemask during the activity. Please bring your own facemask and food and drink for during the break. Thanks and enjoy the activity.
